BBC Bouwmanagement (BBC), a leading player in construction supervision, has brought knowledge and capital on board by attracting the Belgian investment fund KeBeK Private Equity with the help of sales support from acquisition consultant Marktlink Fusies & Overnames.

More than 100 people work for BBC Bouwmanagement in management, project management, and quality management for the construction industry in the Netherlands. The company has offices in Etten-Leur, Groningen, and Arnhem. The company is a significant player in earthquake damage assessment and the strengthening of buildings for the earthquake area in the Groningen region.

Under the management of owners Walther and Marianne Coppens, the company has grown into a leading company in the construction industry and is one of the largest in its niche segment. Earlier this year, the shareholders transferred their operational activities to the current experienced management team. There was a parallel search for the right partner to help the company with further growth. After talks with various (inter)national parties, this partner was found in the Belgian KeBeK Private Equity.

KeBeK Private Equity is an independent Belgian investment fund that invests in solid, medium-sized businesses. KeBeK participates in Borek (high-quality outdoor furniture), Van Assendelft (a Dutch camping and recreation wholesaler), and in Yource (one of the most important customer contact agencies in the Benelux). KeBeK actively supports the management teams of its participations in the implementation of the jointly decided company strategy.

Walther Coppens: After almost 30 years of BBC Bouwmanagement, this was a logical time to attract an investment firm. Over the years, we have proven to be the authority when it comes to construction supervision and project management in the Netherlands. We have grown to be the company we are today. Now we have KeBeK as a partner, they will take the company to the next level of growth, together with us and the management team.”

Walther and Marianne Coppens will remain involved in BBC Bouwmanagement as minority shareholders. From an operational standpoint, the organisation is led by the experienced Ronald Zilver, who took the role of operational director on 1 January, after many years of involvement with BBC Bouwmanagement.
