Following the departure of former managing partner Filip Mariën in July, Steven Meuldermans will join our team on 1 September. He will take charge of our Antwerp office and, as the new managing partner, will take Marktlink Belgium forward, together with the existing team of M&A specialists.
Steven Meuldermans brings extensive experience as a senior investment banker in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, and advising entrepreneurs on structuring and selling businesses. His previous roles include positions at ING, Royal Bank of Scotland, and a 6.5-year partnership at Merodis. Additionally, he has successfully developed and elevated various departments and companies in the past—experiences that will undoubtedly be beneficial as Marktlink Belgium continues to grow.
Thanks to our international network, we hold a unique position as an acquisition advisor in Belgium, offering significant added value to Flemish SMEs. Steven Meuldermans commented: “I am really looking forward to starting in this new role. Being in daily contact with businesses and working on M&A is in my blood, as is entrepreneurship and the drive grow. These two passions come together perfectly at an ambitious Marktlink. I have experience in building departments, sometimes from scratch. Given how much Marktlink has grown in recent years, I am eager to continue building on this towards reaching the absolute top. I aim to achieve this with a team that embodies Marktlink and goes the extra mile with passion to provide our clients with the best quality and service. I can’t wait to start prospecting again, meeting businesses, and helping clients realise a merger or sale under the best possible conditions.”

Our Antwerp office has been in business since 2019, responding to the growing demand for an acquisition specialist who is close to entrepreneurs and possesses knowledge and an extensive network in both the Netherlands and Belgium. In just five years, we have grown into a significant player in the Belgian M&A market within the SME segment. Recent examples include the acquisition of ExtraPower by Essers and the sale of Vadesco Logistics to XWIFT, in the energy and logistics sectors, respectively. Other examples from the energy sector include the acquisition of G&D Energy by Hasco and the sale of Project Zero to Ecostal. A noteworthy deal in the food sector is the acquisition of Foster Fast Food, while in the cosmetics industry, the acquisition of Consulta by Care Cosmetics stands out. Lastly, in the construction sector, we proudly brought together Buildmat and Technicel.
Tom Beltman, managing partner at Marktlink Group, stated: “We are delighted that Steven is joining us and will be taking on the daily management of the Antwerp office. He brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a strong network. We have every confidence that he will successfully orchestrate Marktlink’s further growth in Belgium. In the near future, we plan to open a new branch in Belgium to maintain our positive momentum, provide even more clients with our expertise, and position ourselves as market leader.”
